Accessibility Status

Status: Partially compliant

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and to identify and resolve existing barriers. The non-compliant areas are listed below.

Accessibility Measures

We have implemented the following measures to ensure the accessibility of meerfun.de:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
  • ARIA labels and roles for screen reader compatibility
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for text)
  • Alternative text for all informative images
  • Skip navigation link to main content
  • Responsive design that supports zoom up to 200%
  • Accessibility settings (high contrast, large text, reduced motion, dark mode) available in the header and mobile menu
  • Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. The following known limitations exist:

Third-party content and embedded maps

Embedded maps (Mapbox) may not be fully accessible with screen readers. We provide the address information as text as an alternative.

Images from external sources

Property images are provided by property managers via vOffice. Not all images may have descriptive alternative texts. We are working with our partners to improve this.

PDF documents

Some PDF documents (e.g., booking confirmations, legal documents) may not yet be fully accessible. We are working on providing accessible alternatives.

Image gallery / lightbox

The fullscreen image gallery supports keyboard navigation (arrow keys, Escape) but may have limited screen reader support for slide transitions.
